Bell (1929- ) is a television writer and producer. He began work with television soap operas in 1957 when he began writing for "The Guiding Light." He wrote for "As the World Turns" from 1958 to 1967, and in 1966 became head writer for "Days of Our Lives." He began writing for "The Young and the Restless" in 1977. Wheeler was born in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, the son of John Wheeler and Miriam P. Daniels. He graduated from West Point in 1866, ranked sixth in his class, and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers. He first served in California from 1866 to 1871. In 1869 General Edward O. C. Ord sent him on a reconnaissance through the eastern Nevada.
